The following is a comparison of MIP performance between COPT and HiGHS on scheduling benchmarks, using their latest versions on Windows11.
COPT demonstrates roughly an order of magnitude faster performance than HiGHS on medium-sized instances, which is comparable to Gurobi.
However, its performance tends to degrade rapidly on medium-to-large instances. In this respect, Gurobi still appears to be the state-of-the-art solver.
HiGHS, on the other hand, has improved its speed further compared to the previous version.
Since its branch-and-bound implementation does not yet appear to be multithreaded, there seems to be considerable room for further improvement.
